The Postgraduate Mechanical Engineering Program at Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) cordially invites researchers, academics, and industry professionals to submit their papers to the 10th Mechanical Engineering, Science, and Technology Conference (MEST2026). This international conference serves as a premier platform for presenting cutting-edge research, exchanging knowledge, and fostering collaboration across diverse fields of mechanical engineering and interdisciplinary sciences.
We welcome original contributions in the following tracks: Manufacturing and Process Technology, Advanced Sustainable Energy Research, Advanced Materials and Structures, Fluid and Aerodynamics Research, and Advanced Vehicle Control and Automation. Submissions may address topics such as additive manufacturing, precision machining, computational fluid dynamics, renewable energy systems, nanomaterials, smart structures, intelligent vehicle systems, and other relevant areas that advance innovation, efficiency, and sustainability in engineering.
Beyond these tracks, MEST2026 also embraces interdisciplinary perspectives in computational science, product and service design, data science, digital transformation, and architectural technology. By bringing together academia, industry, and research communities, the conference aims to inspire new ideas, strengthen collaborations, and contribute to global progress in mechanical engineering and technology.
MEST2026 is co-located with the 12th International Summit on Science, Technology, and Humanity (ISETH 2026), a concurrent event organized by Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta

Manufacturing and Process Technology covers a wide range of topics including additive manufacturing and 3D product modelling, advanced and precision machining, automation technology, design optimisation, finite, boundary, and extended element methods, high‑performance computational modelling, manufacturing process simulation, rapid prototyping, and other relevant areas that advance innovation, efficiency, and sustainability in modern manufacturing systems.
Advanced Sustainable Energy Research encompasses approaches to sustainability in relation to environment and climate change, combustion, energy engineering and management, propulsion, renewable energy, sustainable cities and communities, solar, wind, and other alternative renewable energy sources, along with other relevant topics that advance innovation, resilience, and sustainable development in energy systems.
Advanced Materials and Structures includes advanced and smart materials, applied biotechnology, nanomaterials, nanoparticulates and nanocomposites, biomaterials and biosensors, natural materials, material characterization, materials computation and design, metals, alloys and compounds, as well as structural design and analysis, alongside other relevant topics that contribute to innovation, performance, and sustainability in material science and engineering
Fluid and Aerodynamics Research covers aerodynamics, computational fluid dynamics, heat and mass transfer, internal combustion engines, nanofluids, refrigeration and air conditioning, as well as other relevant topics that advance innovation, efficiency, and sustainability in fluid mechanics and thermal sciences.
Advanced Vehicle Control and Automation focuses on intelligent vehicle systems, autonomous driving technologies, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), robotics and mechatronics integration, sensor fusion and control algorithms, vehicle dynamics and stability control, smart mobility solutions, and other relevant topics that contribute to innovation, safety, and efficiency in modern transportation and automated systems.

Papers must be submitted on the understanding that they have not been published elsewhere (except in the form of an abstract or as part of a published lecture, review, or thesis) and are not currently under consideration by another journal published by any publisher. Peer Review Process
The submitted papers will be evaluated (initial review) by the track director to check the suitability of the papers with the conference's focus and scopes. Afterward, all papers that have passed the initial review by the track director, will be single-blindly reviewed by two reviewers before the presentations. The authors are given a chance to submit the revision no later than 7 days after the conference date. Once they pass the presentation, then the articles will be sent to the committee for content review before collected to be submitted to the publisher.
Initial Review
The track director evaluates each manuscript in the submission track to determine if its topic and content is suitable for consideration for the conference before being reviewed. Manuscripts that do not meet minimum criteria are returned to the authors, by changing the status to rejected. This is in the best interest of the authors who could then decide to either correct the problems or to resubmit the manuscript to a more appropriate venue, avoiding delays from a lengthy review process that would nonetheless lead to another rejection.
Peer Review
Manuscripts that pass the initial review by the Track Directors, will be sent to referees based on their expertise. Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two referees. The referees are asked to evaluate the manuscript based on its originality, soundness of methodology, impact to design research, and relevance to design practices. To facilitate timely publication, referees are asked to complete their reviews and provide individual critiques within two weeks. After collecting the referees' reports, the Track Director makes a recommendation on the acceptability of the manuscript.
Acceptance Decision
Based on the referees' comments, the Track Director makes a final decision on the acceptability of the manuscript and communicates to the authors the decision, along with referees' reports. The status reports to reviewers should identify the reviewers of each paper, the final decision can be "Accept Submission", "Revisions Required", or "Decline Submission." The revised version should be submitted considering the review comments.
Plagiarism
The authors should make sure that the manuscript pass a criterion of less than 25 percents similarity to other publications. The publisher, however, has the right to reject the submission according to the policy of the publisher.
